Lennard Kämna was involved in a traffic accident that occurred during a training ride on Tenerife. He is in a stable condition, he is awake, responsive and able to communicate. Lennard Kämna suffered numerous injuries. He is receiving very good care in the hospital on Tenerife and will be monitored in the intensive care unit over the next few days. Members of his family and the team are with him.&nbsp;According to initial findings on the accident, the driver of an oncoming vehicle turned left into Lennard Kämna's lane and collided with him. At the time, he was riding with the training group, which was accompanied by team coaches. No other team riders or coaches were involved in the accident.&nbsp;Ralph Denk, Team Manager BORA - hansgrohe: "We are relieved that Lennard's condition has stabilized after this serious accident and that he is doing well under the circumstances. The whole team feels for him, and we all wish him a speedy recovery. From the team side, we will continue to do everything necessary to ensure that he makes a full recovery from this accident. That's all that matters now - anything else can wait."&nbsp;<hr><h3>Update - April 7</h3>&nbsp;Lennard Kämna's recovery has developed positively over the past few days. The 27-year-old has improved so much that he was able to leave the intensive care unit. A doctor from the medical team of BORA - hansgrohe saw him to obtain an impression of his condition on site. He is stable and has therefore already been transferred to the normal ward of the hospital on Tenerife. His injuries, particularly in the chest area (severe chest trauma with rib fractures and lung contusion), will continue to be treated there.&nbsp;Ralph Denk, Team Manager BORA - hansgrohe: “Lennard has taken a huge step forward. The fact that he can now be transferred to the normal ward is very good news. I would like to thank the medical team on Tenerife and our Medical Department for their great efforts over the last few days. We wish Lennard continued strength for a speedy recovery.”

Lennard Kämna involved in training accident (updated)

The individual time trial made a return to this year's edition of the race through the Basque Country. In the first part of the 10km long stage, the riders had to take on a steep cobblestone section of almost 10 per cent, followed by an ascent to Olaberria (1.7 km at 5 percent). The parcours then concluded with a short yet steep ramp. BORA - hansgrohe's leader Primož Roglič already posted the best time by the first checkpoint after 4km and managed to extend his lead even further in the second half of the race, despite taking a wrong turn shortly before the finsh. Primož Roglič wins thrilling opening time trial at Tour of the Basque Country

Following his impressive performance at Paris-Nice two weeks ago (stage winner and 5th overall), Aleksandr Vlasov entered the Volta a Catalunya with high ambitions. In the end, he confirmed his strong form with another top result.Despite numerous attacks, today's seventh stage of the Volta a Catalunya saw no significant changes in the overall standings. BORA - hansgrohe's rider Aleksandr Vlasov finished the tour through Catalonia in fourth place in the general classification, 5:56 minutes behind the overall winner Tadej Pogačar."It was a really tough week, especially the last few days were very intense. In the end, I just narrowly missed the podium," Vlasov explained at the finish. Halfway through the race, the 27-year-old was in third place in the standings, but ultimately, he had to pay tribute to the demanding course of the race. "Nevertheless, I'm very satisfied with my form this spring. In the past few weeks, I've had really good legs."Indeed, Vlasov continued his impressive series of good results in Catalonia: After securing three podium finishes at the Mallorca Challenge, he also finished third in the Valencia Tour. This was followed by a stage win and a fifth place overall at Paris-Nice, along with the recent top result in Catalonia."After Paris-Nice, Aleks was in excellent shape. He started the Volta a Catalunya equally strong. Ultimately, though, the intense racing took its toll. Volta a Catalunya: Aleksandr Vlasov finishes the WorldTour stage race in fourth place

On the last stage of Paris-Nice, the peloton took to the start line in Nice under sunshine instead of the expected rain. Three kilometers before the summit of the Côte de Peilles, Evenepoel launched the decisive attack of the stage. He was quickly followed by Vlasov and Jorgensen, with the trio reaching the summit of the climb together. On the approach to the intermediate sprint at the Col d'Éze, the trio extended their lead to 1:30 minutes, but on the final climb Evenepoel and Jorgensen were able to shake Aleks off. The BORA-hansgrohe rider was unable to keep up with the pace on the final climb and finished the stage in third place.&nbsp;After BORA-hansgrohe initially fell somewhat short of expectations, the team was able to conclude the eight-day race on a positive note. On the penultimate stage, the team showed its fighting spirit, with Aleksandr Vlasov sensing his chance just 5km before the finish and attacking on the final climb. With no one able to follow, he secured his first win of the season.&nbsp;Primož Roglič, who made his debut for the German team in this race, suffered a time loss of around 50 seconds after a somewhat disappointing team time trial at the start of the race week. However, the Slovenian continued to fight his way forward in the general classification on the following stages and finished in tenth place overall. We tried to make it onto the podium from the leading trio with Aleks, but he was suffering quite a bit with the weather conditions. Ultimately, he took a strong third place and confirmed his good form following his win yesterday. With third place on final stage, Aleksandr Vlasov finishes Paris-Nice fifth overall

Due to wintry weather conditions, today's stage was shortened from 173km to 104km and the final climb moved to the 15.3 km long and 5.7 percent steep Madone d'Utelle. After the hopes set by BORA - hansgrohe weren’t fully reached so far, the team showed its strong side today. With a little less than 5km to the finish, Aleksandr Vlasov attacked on the final climb. The reduced group of favourites, which also included teammate Primož Roglič, initially let the BORA - hansgrohe rider go and he was able to extend his lead to around 20 seconds. Only then did the small chasing group react. However, Vlasov skillfully exploited the indecision of his pursuers to secure his first win of the season. In the sprint behind, Evenepoel finished second while Roglič took a strong third place. Global road talent scouting program launched by Red Bull and BORA - hansgrohe sets the stage for future cycling stars(Raubling, March 1st 2024) - Red Bull Junior Brothers, the global road talent scouting program launched by Red Bull and BORA - hansgrohe, announces its highly anticipated return for the 2024 season. Following the success of its inaugural year, the program continues in its search for the future stars of professional road cycling, with applications opening on March 1st until April 30th.Initiated in 2023, Red Bull Junior Brothers offers a pathway for young, unsigned talent to take their next step in their cycling career. In collaboration with BORA - hansgrohe's U19 team, GRENKE - Auto Eder, the program provides opportunities for promising cyclists to realise their dreams. The 2023 season concluded with the selection of two talents, Patrick Casey from Ireland and Anatol Friedl from Austria, who have since secured contracts with BORA - hansgrohe’s U19 team, GRENKE - Auto Eder, along with Red Bull athlete partnership deals.Both Patrick and Anatol have started their journey with Team GRENKE - Auto Eder and attended their first training camp with their teammates at Lake Garda in February.Reflecting on his selection, Patrick Casey said, “It’s hard to believe how much has changed since last year when I first heard about the Red Bull Junior Brothers scheme.
